Recently I was in Rome when I was lecturing the photography students from the Italian Institute of art and design, a student said to me what is Ireland like now as it seems to emerge from a dark place.

With those words ringing in my mind I felt that my approach to landscape photography over the past few years was indeed a reflection of the economic ills of our beloved country. With this collection I’d like to show you that in the midst of an economic downturn and unemployment that the countryside is still wondrous mystical beautiful.

The colourful images shot at the end of the period for me illustrates the rise to normality and progress. We are a nation once again.
